If you love taking photos with your webcam, here is reason to celebrate. You can use your webcam to take photos altered with more than 70 creative effects and filters without having to download any program. Just go to the Webcam Toy website through this extension for Google Chrome.
Webcam Toy is an easy-to-use application; all you need to do is allow it to access your webcam and you'll automatically appear on the screen. Then you can select different effects from the menu on the bottom part of the screen.
Once you've chosen a filter from the wide variety available, just click the camera icon and smile for your photo.
The effects and filters range from waves and fish-eye to Instagram-like filters, or photographs with moving parts, like that of an old movie, physiogram, or underwater effect that allows you to take the picture at just the right moment.
Webcam Toy includes the following keyboard shortcuts:
← → - Arrow keys to browse through different effects
'G' - Displays 9 effects at once in a grid view
'I' - Displays the Information menu
'F' - Toggle flash on or off
'M' - Mirror effect for the photo (very useful for any text on camera)
If you're happy with your results, in addition to saving them to your computer, you can also share them directly on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr.
